International Pedigree Stage Stop Sled Dog Race

The largest sled dog race in the lower 48 states, the IPSSSDR hosts champion teams from France, Japan, Canada and the U.S. competing for the races $100,000 purse.

The International Pedigree Stage Stop Sled Dog Race was founded in 1996 by Frank Teasley to make sled dog racing more accessible to the public. Today the race is in its 15th year and as popular as ever. The race starts in Jackson Hole and continues to


 

  • Held as part of the JH Winter Carnival in late January.
  • Mushers race from the Jackson Hole starting line through southern Wyoming and northern Utah to cross a finish line in Park City, Utah.
  • The event is FREE for spectators to watch the excited teams take off! Fireworks usually follow this event.

Overview: This annual event is great for the whole family. Typically taking place in late January, head on down to the Jackson Town Square for the kick off. Mushers follow a track through town and residential streets to the base of Snow King Mountain. A meet and greet party, followed by a torchlight parade and fireworks are some of the fun festivities you can enjoy at Snow King.

When: The IPSSDR is part of the Jackson Hole Winter Carnival held at the end of January each year.

Where: The starting line for the race is in downtown Jackson Hole on the Town Square.

Fees: The event is free for everyone to watch.
