Though bundling travel guides into a bag and wandering aimlessly around the local area can provide incredible adventures and sights, tours of the Grand Teton National Park are well worth looking into. In fact, these run out of nearby Jackson Hole (WY), offering young and old insight into local history, geology, wildlife and local sites, many of which are only known to locals.
There are two main tours, including the Teton National Park Tour and the Yellowstone and Grand Teton combined tour. The Teton National Park Tour runs from June to October, every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday, offering relaxing bus trips through the park for a mere $100 per person for a full day's trip. The Yellowstone and Grand Teton combined tour is for private groups and individuals and prices vary, but allow visitors to choose their itinery and the tour length.
Park entrance fees generally are not included in tour prices. Reservations are needed in advance for each tour due to their popularity and a handling fee of $15 is charged if the tour chosen is cancelled at a maximum of two weeks before the tour begins. Tours cancelled within that two week period are non-refundable. Tours are also given outside of the regular tour dates, though advance requests are needed as winter tours are also very sought after. In fact, the number of passengers for each tour has to be a minimum of 6 people.
