Teton Canyon in the Grand Teton National Park has plenty of hiking opportunities throughout the canyon. The Teton Canyon Trail is just one of these, but is a strenuous hike that is worth considering, not only for the views. In fact, many expert hikers use this trail in combination with camping.
The Grand Teton National Park is home to the picturesque Teton Canyon. It is easily accessed via the Teton Canyon Trail, a hiking challenge that draws in thousands of hikers who enjoy its challenges and opportunities to see the park up close and personal.
The Teton Canyon Trail hike enables hikers to explore the backcountry of the park. It is an eleven mile roundtrip that allows for self-guided hiking, which is best done in groups as many parts of it are very isolated. In fact, the trail traverses through the lower valleys, passed campgrounds, streams and nearby lakes, leading directly to the canyon floor. However, quite a bit of the trail requires steep descents and climbs up unforgiving slopes along the Teton Creek.
