Teton Crest Trail

The Teton Crest Trail is located in Wyoming, running over fifty kilometres through the Grand Teton National Park and National Forest. It is ideal for backpacking and hikers can choose between a number of trailhead, alternatives that give the expert hiker new challenges.

The Teton Crest takes up to five days to do. Altitudes are high and the views are stunning, and the trail is best tackled from July to September. However, during the summer months, thunderstorms are frequent in the afternoons.

Though this trail can be done by intermediate hikers as well, it allows hikers to divert into other trails, looping back around with doing the entire route. However, for those who take on the full trail, the highlights are well worth it. These include craggy mountain peaks, the Death Canyon Shelf, Snowdrift Lake, and Inspiration Point, Marion Lake, plenty of wildlife viewing (deer, elk, pronghorn, moose, bison, marmot, bears, coyotes, wolves and mountain lions), wildflowers and some mountain passes.
