Snowmobiling //
With an abundance of snow falling in Jackson Hole every winter, one of the areas most popular-and controversial-activities is snowmobiling. Hundreds of miles of packed and groomed snowmobile trails head into Bridger-Teton National Forest as well as Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks.
Although there is a lot of terrain out there to cover, some of the more popular snowmobiling spots include the Togwotee Pass area 48 miles north of Jackson, Cache Creek Road a few miles east of town, Granite Hot Springs Road 25 miles southeast in Hoback Canyon and Teton Pass nine miles west of town through the town of Wilson.
More than a dozen different Jackson companies offer guided snowmobile tours into Yellowstone National Park and the vicinity. Tours into Yellowstone typically include breakfast and lunch. Generally, tours to other areas are less expensive with some motels offering package deals. Snowmobile rentals are also available for self-guided trips.
