Grand Teton National Park is home to the Gros Ventre Road, a route that leads through the park and into other interesting must see areas. It is off the beaten track, but is very popular during the summer due to its access to local forests, historic sites, trails and campgrounds.

When looking for an alternative route through the Grand Teton National Park, the Gros Ventre Road is sure to please. This out of the way byway is more often used in the summer by 4 x 4's as it is not completely paved the whole way. However, it accesses many activities and locations that would be missed along the main highway.

The Gros Ventre Road Scenic Drive is a drive through the wonders of nature and history that should not be missed. It runs through Kelly, heading north towards the Bridger Teton National Forest and follows along the Gros Ventre River for most of the way. In fact, it is a good access route to get to such sites as the Lower Slide Lake, local campgrounds and various trailheads. In fact, it is highly popular with hikers, who use it to reach backcountry areas for adventures in the wilderness and beyond.
